VICTORIA, Seychelles — President-elect Dr Patrick Herminie will officially be inaugurated into office on Sunday, October 26, 2025. As previously announced by Dr Herminie, the inauguration ceremony, which will be open to the general public, is scheduled to take place at 5.30pm at the Stad Linite in Roche Caïman.
Dr Herminie defeated incumbent President Wavel Ramkalawan of the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) political party during the presidential runoff held on October 9, 10 and 11. He will serve as Seychelles’ sixth President for the next five years, taking over the reins of the country after a closely contested election season that drew strong public engagement both at home and abroad.
The incoming Head of State has already begun consultations on the composition of his government, and is expected to name his cabinet in the days following the inauguration. Members of the public wishing to attend the ceremony are advised to arrive early, as security arrangements will be in place around the stadium and its surroundings. The government has invited citizens, residents and the diplomatic corps to be present at the swearing-in ceremony, which marks a new chapter in the country’s democratic life.
