
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President-elect Dr Patrick Herminie on Sunday told a large crowd of supporters and activists at Baie Ste Anne, Praslin, that the country will remain stable under the leadership of United Seychelles. Speaking at a victory rally, Dr Herminie said: ‘Under my leadership and that of United Seychelles, the country will remain stable. Seychelles will have peace and the people will live in stability.’
Dr Herminie, the first Praslinwa to be elected President of Seychelles, expressed pride in addressing his supporters as the incoming Head of State. He asked supporters and activists to stay in touch with the people. ‘My message to my supporters is to remain calm, trust me, trust my government. We have started, and we will finish what we have begun together,’ he said.
Supporters had gathered from early in the morning, with musicians from Island Vibration and Harmonison setting the atmosphere. In his address, the president-elect thanked all those who had placed their trust in him and in the United Seychelles party, and reaffirmed the incoming administration’s commitment to serving the people of Seychelles with humility and dedication.
