Herminie and Ramkalawan Set Order on Run-Off Ballot Paper

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) has set the order in which the two presidential candidates will appear on the ballot paper for the presidential run-off scheduled for October 9, 10 and 11, 2025.

Dr Patrick Herminie of United Seychelles (US) will appear on top, while the incumbent, Wavel Ramkalawan of Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS), will feature second on the ballot paper. The draw was held on Tuesday evening at the ECS headquarters in Mont Fleuri, in the presence of representatives of both parties and observers.

To ensure transparency, the ECS representatives held an initial draw to decide which party would conduct the ballot paper draw, and the result fell on LDS. Its representative, Antony Derjacques, picked the US party, determining the order in which the names would appear on the ballot. Each contender has been allotted two 26-minute political party broadcasts (PPBs) ahead of the run-off.

The two candidates will now head into a one-week campaign before the second round of voting, in which the winner will secure a majority in the two-horse race. The first round on September 25-27 saw Dr Herminie garner 30,736 votes (48.8 percent) and Mr Ramkalawan 29,230 (46.4 percent).
