VICTORIA, Seychelles — A national campaign has been launched to promote financial literacy among young Seychellois, with a focus on building the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions. The campaign, led by the Central Bank of Seychelles in partnership with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders, targets students in secondary and post-secondary institutions, as well as young entrepreneurs.
The campaign includes a series of workshops, school visits and community outreach activities aimed at improving understanding of key financial concepts such as saving, budgeting, investing and managing debt. Officials noted that financial literacy is an essential life skill that can help young people build a secure future and contribute to the economic development of the country.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, officials from the Central Bank and partner organisations emphasised the importance of starting financial education early, noting that young people who develop good financial habits are more likely to achieve their personal and professional goals. The campaign will run throughout the school year, with additional activities planned for the coming months.
