VICTORIA, Seychelles — The All-African Workshop of the African Dance Form (WADF) is being held in Seychelles, bringing together dancers and choreographers from across the African continent for an intensive week of training, exchange and performance. The event is part of a wider effort to promote African dance traditions and to strengthen cultural ties between African countries.
Participants in the workshop are working with experienced instructors to develop new choreographic skills, while also sharing their own knowledge and traditions. Organisers said the workshop provides a unique platform for African dancers to learn from one another, build networks and showcase the diversity of the continent’s dance heritage.
The workshop is expected to culminate in a public performance that will allow Seychellois audiences to experience the variety and richness of African dance traditions. Officials said the event also reflects the country’s commitment to supporting cultural exchange and the development of the creative sector.
