VICTORIA, Seychelles — Delegates from a number of countries have gathered at the National Assembly of Seychelles for a parliamentary exchange programme, in a meeting hosted by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne. The delegates, who were photographed with the Speaker at the start of the programme, are in Seychelles to learn about the country’s legislative system and to share best practice in governance.
The exchange programme included presentations on the structure of the National Assembly, the role of members of parliament, and the legislative process in Seychelles. Delegates also discussed the role of parliament in promoting good governance, transparency, and accountability, in line with international standards.
Speaker Mancienne thanked the delegates for their visit and reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and to building strong links with legislatures across the region and beyond. The exchange is expected to lead to further cooperation between Seychelles and the visiting countries on issues of shared interest.
