VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Laliberté political party has named Vincent Padayachy and Patrick Deiss as its presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the upcoming 2025 presidential elections. The pair were announced yesterday morning during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters at the Unique Building, Providence.
Mr Padayachy said they were nominated and endorsed by the party’s executive committee to work for the benefit of the Seychellois people. ‘We did not accept the roles to benefit ourselves, but we accepted so we can work for the country and the nation, as we feel that Seychelles need to have another option for the upcoming elections.’ The party’s core values include improving management of the country’s wealth and resources, especially fisheries and tourism, to boost revenue generation from the primary economic sectors.
As a socio-liberal party, Laliberté’s focus is on the quality of life of the people, through security, effective education and healthcare systems, and equal opportunities for all. The party’s campaign centres on measures to reduce the cost of living, addressing all forms of pollution, and facilitating the business sector, with emphasis on spiritual values. The Laliberté party was officially certified in October 2024.
