VICTORIA, Seychelles — The National Council for Children’s (NCC) new theme song, ‘One Big Family’, was officially launched during a ceremony at the Mont Fleuri secondary school on Tuesday morning. The song, a heartwarming collaboration with renowned local artists Mozaik and Taniah, as well as the Children’s Choir, is the first single from an album that is expected to be released early next year by the NCC under the project titled ‘Families Who Sing Together, Stay Together’.
The inspiring song celebrates the importance of family unity and togetherness, while also promoting the ongoing work and mission of NCC, in line with the global observance of International Day of Families. Siblings Isis and Isham Rath, who are the faces of Mozaik Seychelles, explained that the song, produced by Dareal Thing, was co-written by all three artists, but finally came together with the Twinkle Choir’s involvement. “We decided to go for a modern beat and rhythm. We want the current generation to be attracted to the song, and that they actually listen to the song, as much as possible, from the youngest, to the oldest,” they said.
According to the NCC, the song and the wider project reflect the council’s commitment to promoting the values of togetherness and family. “NCC is all about families, and families to remain together and care for children together,” an NCC spokesperson said at the launch. The launch was attended by children, parents, teachers, and representatives of partner organisations. The Twinkle Choir, Mozaik, and Taniah performed the song live, and copies of the single were distributed to schools and partner organisations across the country.
