VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Artistic Dance Factory returned to Seychelles yesterday after securing second place in the top three medal ranking at the World Artistic Dance Federation Warsaw Championship 2025, which took place between April 11 and 13, 2025. Team Seychelles was welcomed at the Seychelles International Airport by permanent secretary for Culture Cecile Kalebi. The championship, held at the Ursynów Arena in Warsaw, Poland, saw the participation of 12 dancers from the Artistic Dance Factory (ADF) who showcased their talents on a global stage against competitors from 15 countries in the Latin, ballroom, and Caribbean dance categories.
The Seychellois team returned with an impressive medal haul, led by Alizée Low Ken, who won 11 gold and two silver medals. The result cements the reputation of the Artistic Dance Factory as one of the Indian Ocean’s most competitive dance outfits and gives Seychellois dancers valuable exposure at the international level. The team competed against entries from across Europe, the Americas and Asia in some of the discipline’s most technically demanding categories.
The dancers and their coaches were received at the airport by family members, fellow dancers and officials from the Department of Culture. The success in Warsaw comes ahead of the ADF’s year-end showcase, and the troupe’s management has indicated that several of its dancers will now turn their attention to the WADF Asian leg later this year, where they hope to consolidate their positions in the world rankings. The Department of Culture has congratulated the team and noted that such performances strengthen the country’s profile in non-traditional sporting disciplines.
