Colin Chang-Tave Appointed Chief Executive of Seychelles Airports Authority

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Colin Chang-Tave has been appointed chief executive of the Seychelles Airports Authority, effective April 15, 2025. The board of the Seychelles Airports Authority made the announcement through a press release issued yesterday. Mr Chang-Tave’s appointment has been made in consultation with the minister responsible for Transport and the President of the Republic in accordance with Section 6 (1) of the Seychelles Airports Authority (SAA) Act, 2024, which came into effect on January 6, 2025, officially establishing the SAA as the authority responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of Seychelles’ airports and Seychelles air navigation services.

The press release added that Mr Chang-Tave’s appointment is testament to the board of directors’ confidence in his competence and skills to lead the airports authority’s future. With a distinguished career spanning over nearly three decades in the aviation industry, he brings extensive expertise in airport operations and strategic leadership to his role as CEO of the SAA, read the press release. Holding a First-Class Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Organisational Strategy from the National University of Ireland, Mr Chang-Tave has been instrumental in shaping the operational and strategic direction of Seychelles’ aviation sector.

Throughout his tenure at the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), he has held key leadership positions, including general manager for airport management and head of airport operations, overseeing the seamless functioning and development of the Seychelles International Airport. Mr Chang-Tave has strong expertise in emergency preparedness, a key part of airport safety and management, and is an active member of the Airports Council International (ACI) Africa Safety & Technical Committee, where he contributes to global initiatives and discussions around aviation safety. “Mr Chang-Tave takes up this position at a time when our industry embarks on a new chapter, focusing on transformation and with it, growth and progress for the country. Given his great experience, Mr Chang-Tave is expected to be one among the driving forces in this new chapter,” the release concluded.
