VICTORIA, Seychelles — All citizens of Seychelles are being invited to take part in the co-creation of the Third National Open Government Partnership Action Plan, which will take place on April 14, 2025 at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles in Victoria. Cabinet Secretary Margaret Moumou, speaking on behalf of the Office of the President, stated that ‘this workshop is more than just a meeting — it is an opportunity for you to help design how government serves the people of Seychelles. Your voice matters in this important process of building a government that truly reflects the needs of its people.’
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is an international platform where governments and citizens work together to promote transparency, accountability, and responsive governance. Seychelles joined the OGP in 2014 and has since committed to reforms that empower citizens, improve public services, fight corruption, and strengthen democratic institutions. The third action plan is expected to consolidate the progress made under previous plans and introduce new commitments in areas such as open data, public service delivery and citizen engagement.
The workshop will bring together representatives of government, civil society, the private sector and members of the public to deliberate on the priorities, indicators and implementation arrangements for the new action plan. Officials have noted that public participation is essential to ensure that the commitments reflect the lived realities of Seychellois citizens. Interested participants have been encouraged to register through the OGP national chapter and the Office of the President’s website ahead of the session.
