VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Office of the President has confirmed the appointment of Mike Morel as the principal secretary for the Family department. Mr Morel holds a Degree in Business Administration from the University of Seychelles and the University of London, and a Master’s Degree in Regulation and Compliance from Queen Mary University of London.
Mr Morel’s career spans 17 years with key experience within the private sector at UCPS, in the family business and at Excel Motors. Within the public sector, Mr Morel served as district administrator from March 2017 to August 2019. Before his appointment as principal secretary, Mr Morel was the operations manager at Excel Motors.
The Family department, which sits within the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family, is responsible for the design and delivery of policies and programmes aimed at supporting family welfare, child protection and the strengthening of community-level social services across Seychelles.
