VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Airports Authority is pleased to announce the early resumption of Aeroflot’s Moscow-Seychelles service, strengthening air connectivity with the Russian market and supporting the continued growth of tourism, travel, and trade. Originally scheduled to restart on September 19, 2026, Aeroflot will now resume operations from July 8, 2026, initially offering two weekly flights every Wednesday and Saturday for the remainder of the Summer schedule.
The SAA has approved the schedule, with arrivals in Seychelles at 11:25 hrs and departures at 13:20 hrs. Looking ahead, Aeroflot is expected to expand to three weekly flights during the Winter Season 2026, beginning October 18, 2026, reflecting sustained demand and stronger connectivity between Moscow and Seychelles. The route operated at a frequency of three weekly flights until its temporary suspension on May 13, 2026.
Aeroflot first launched flights to Seychelles in 1993, connecting Moscow via a stopover in Dubai. This service continued for a decade before being discontinued in 2003. After a 20-year hiatus, Aeroflot returned on April 2, 2021, re-establishing a vital link between the two destinations. Since then, the airline has carried 25,057 passengers in 2021, 12,389 passengers in 2022, 24,555 passengers in 2023, 22,369 passengers in 2024, and 21,700 passengers in 2025.
The Russian market has historically been an important source of tourists for Seychelles. The early resumption of Aeroflot services demonstrates the continued importance of this market and reflects confidence in Seychelles as a tourism destination. The SAA has worked closely with the airline to facilitate the early return of services.
This development aligns with the government’s broader strategy to diversify and strengthen air connectivity to key tourism markets. The resumption of Aeroflot services will provide Seychellois travellers with more options for reaching Europe and beyond through Moscow’s hub connections.
The SAA looks forward to welcoming Aeroflot back to Seychelles International Airport.
