Didier Dogley Appointed New Chairperson of Islands Development Company

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Didier Dogley has been appointed the new chairperson of the board of the Islands Development Company (IDC), effective October 29, 2025. His appointment was confirmed on the third day of the new administration under President Patrick Herminie, who took the oath of office as the country’s sixth President on October 26.

The IDC is the state-owned enterprise responsible for the development and management of key inner islands, with a mandate to drive sustainable tourism, infrastructure, and economic activity in the outer islands. Mr Dogley brings significant experience in public administration and island development to the role, having previously served in senior positions in government and in the private sector.

Mr Dogley is widely recognised for his work in environmental sustainability and tourism development. As the new IDC chairperson, he will guide the strategic direction of the company, working closely with the board of directors, the management team, and the line ministry to deliver on the government’s agenda for the inner islands.

The appointment is part of the broader reshaping of state-owned enterprises and parastatals under the new administration, with a focus on accountability, transparency, and delivering tangible benefits to the communities served by these bodies. The IDC plays a key role in the economic development of islands such as Coetivy, Desroches, and Alphonse, where it manages resorts, infrastructure, and other assets on behalf of the government.
