VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Tourism department yesterday held its annual marketing meeting at the Savoy Seychelles Resort and Spa, a key event set to review 2025 marketing activities and strategies with partners and operators in the industry. The meeting was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvestre Radegonde, principal secretary for tourism Sherin Francis, and that of civil aviation, ports and marine David Bianchi, alongside key officials from the department and partners from the industry.
A mid-year review on the state of the tourism industry was presented, covering visitor arrivals, average length of stay, estimated occupancy rates for hotels, guesthouses and self-catering establishments, average expenditure per night, direct connectivity, airline partnerships, digital engagements, and cultural initiatives. The department’s strategic priorities for the next six months were also outlined, including airline engagements, destination promotion, experience development, stimulating visitor spend, and sustainability.
Speaking to the media, Mrs Francis said the main objective of the forum was to re-engage with partners in the industry, to update them on how the tourism sector has performed during the first half of the year, and to inform them about the strategies, planned activities and what is coming in the second half. She noted that one of the department’s key targets this year is to increase arrivals from non-European markets by at least 32 per cent, and that Seychelles is on track to achieve this, with a focus on new flight connections with India and Sichuan Airlines in China.
