VICTORIA, Seychelles — In the recent Sustainable Seychelles Recognition and Certification Programme, 94 properties including 42 new ones were recognised, 18 were certified, and six were recertified. Constance Ephelia Mahe Seychelles was honoured as the very first recipient of the Platinum Award.
The event was held yesterday afternoon at the Eden Bleu Hotel in the presence of small, medium and big players in the local tourism industry. The Platinum Award represents the highest level of recognition under the Sustainable Seychelles programme, signalling that the recipient has demonstrated exceptional commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility and sustainable tourism practices across all areas of operation.
Constance Ephelia general manager Stephanie Duchenne and health, safety and environment manager Marcus Ultsch accepted the award in the presence of Minister Radegonde and Principal Secretary for Tourism Francis. The recognition comes at a time when Seychelles is positioning itself as a leading sustainable tourism destination in the Indian Ocean region, balancing economic growth with environmental preservation. The achievement is expected to encourage other properties to pursue higher standards of sustainability certification.
