President Ramkalawan Receives Copy of CBS Annual Report 2024

VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday afternoon received a copy of the Central Bank of Seychelles’ Annual Report for the year 2024. It was the Central Bank of Seychelles Governor, Caroline Abel, who presented the report to the President, customarily held annually at the end of March. Ms Abel was accompanied by the Second Deputy Governor, Mike Tirant, and the bank’s communication officer, Stephanie Morel.

The publication includes a certified copy of CBS’ Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report for the year ending December 31, 2024, which is based on the outcome of an independent assessment by Grant Thornton Audit and Accounting Limited on behalf of the Auditor General, as per section 19 of the Auditor General Act, 2010, read with Section 47(3) of the CBS Act, 2004. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the bank’s operations, monetary policy decisions and financial performance over the past year.

The Annual Report 2024 also details the bank’s efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability, manage foreign reserves, and regulate the financial sector. According to the central bank, the Seychellois economy demonstrated resilience in 2024 despite global headwinds, supported by a recovery in the tourism sector and prudent fiscal management. Governor Abel also presented copies of the bank’s International Reserves Management Report 2024 and Financial Statements 2024 to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne, in a separate ceremony. The CBS continues to digitalise its financial services in response to the increasing adoption of digital payments across the country.
