VICTORIA, Seychelles — The local sourcesal Youth Council (SNYC) held a project proposal writing training session on April 25, 2026, at its training room in Orion Mall, bringing together representatives from 21 Clubs of Interest. The clubs span media, education, fashion, arts, and performing arts, all seeking to develop stronger proposals for donors and funding partners.
The training equipped youth leaders with practical skills in identifying funding opportunities, structuring project proposals, and presenting budgets that meet international donor standards. According to SNYC officials, the session aimed to professionalise the approach taken by youth organisations when seeking support for community-based initiatives. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises that simulated real proposal development scenarios.
According to SNYC, the workshop forms part of a broader capacity-building programme designed to strengthen the operational and fundraising capacity of youth-led organisations across the islands. Officials noted that many clubs have strong ideas but struggle to translate them into fundable proposals. The training addressed this gap by focusing on logical frameworks, monitoring and evaluation, and financial accountability.
The participating clubs will receive follow-up mentoring support as they develop their proposals over the coming weeks. SNYC plans to host additional training sessions covering partnership building, event management, and digital communications. The council continues to play a central role in supporting youth engagement, leadership development, and civic participation throughout Seychelles.
