VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Office of the President has announced the appointments of new boards for the Seychelles Airports Authority and the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation, with Sabry Khan appointed as the new chairperson of SAA and Andy Moncherry reappointed as chairperson of SPTC. The authority oversees the management and development of Seychelles’ international and domestic airports.
For the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation, Andy Moncherry has been reappointed as chairperson, with Bernard Domingue as vice-chairperson. Other members include Patrick Course, Parinda Herath, Dereck Accouche, Franky Laporte, Mandy Rose, Emilly Mousbe, Brigitte Adrienne, Sherley Marie, and Geffy Zialor as CEO and ex-officio member. SPTC operates the country’s public bus services across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue.
The President has thanked the outgoing members for their period of service. The new boards are expected to provide strategic direction for the two key transport infrastructure entities that play crucial roles in Seychelles’ connectivity and economic development.
The appointments come at a time when both organisations face important challenges, including the modernisation of airport facilities and the improvement of public transport services. The new boards will be responsible for overseeing capital projects, operational efficiency, and service quality improvement initiatives.
New SAA and SPTC boards are expected to drive strategic development in Seychelles’ transport infrastructure.
