Seychelles’ Auditor General Joins SADC Board of Auditors for 2026–2029 Term

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora welcomes the appointment of the Auditor General of the Republic of Seychelles to the Board of Auditors (BOA) of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) institutions for a three-year term effective from 2026. Seychelles is also expected to assume the Chair of the BOA in 2028.
The BOA serves as the external audit body of SADC in accordance with Article 29 of the SADC Treaty. It is mandated to audit the SADC Secretariat and its organs. Its functions include conducting financial, performance, and information technology audits, as well as undertaking special investigations at the request of the SADC Council of Ministers. The BOA reports its findings to the Council of Ministers through the Audit Committee.
This appointment reflects Seychelles’ continued commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance within regional institutions. It also underscores the country’s growing engagement and active participation in SADC structures.
