Meeting between Seychelles and Kenya Ministers at Raisina Dialogue 2026

On the side-line of the Raisina Dialogue, Mr. Barry Faure, Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, is seizing the opportunity to engage in pull-aside talks with counterparts from different nations.

The meeting Minister Barry Faure had with H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi underscored a strengthening bond between two key Indian Ocean neighbours by highlighting the importance of multilateral platforms like Raisina in facilitating deep bilateral engagement.

The discussions centered on several strategic pillars aimed at enhancing the Seychelles-Kenya relationship in various areas of cooperation, including diaspora engagement, joint bilateral commission, regional security, and international affairs.  The ministers explored frameworks to better support and leverage the skills of their respective diaspora communities for national development.

A key theme was the activation and scheduling of the Joint Commission, a vital body responsible for overseeing and implementing agreements in trade, agriculture, and education. The talks also addressed maritime security, fisheries, counter-piracy efforts, and the sustainable use of ocean resources.

The leaders exchanged views on the impact of the West Asia war on their countries, especially on maritime and air connectivity, both countries being significantly dependent on tourism and trade.
