VICTORIA, Seychelles — The National Council for Children once again brought smiles and warmth to young hearts as it hosted its annual ‘Give a Child a Gift’ campaign on Saturday morning at its headquarters in Bel Eau. The event, filled with laughter and excitement, was a celebration of generosity and compassion, reminding everyone of the true spirit of the festive season.
The presents were gifted by different ministries, organisations, agencies, and First Lady Veronique Herminie. The recipients were children from the Plaisance district. In her opening remarks, Minister for Social Affairs, Family and Equality, Pamela Charlette, praised the campaign as a meaningful initiative that ensures every child experiences the magic of Christmas. The chief executive of the National Council for Children, Yasmine Umarji, said this year they saw the participation of more children compared to last year.
According to Mrs Umarji, some of the gifts would be delivered to children on Praslin and La Digue, ensuring that the campaign’s reach extended beyond Mahé. Other attendees included the secretary of state, Linda William Melanie, and the principal secretary for Family and Equality, Mike Morel.
