Chinese Ambassador Calls for New High in China-Seychelles Relations
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles, Lin Nan, has highlighted the depth of cooperation between China and Seychelles and called for a further upgrade of relations in the years ahead. In a written contribution published this week, the ambassador said that, guided by the principles of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the two countries should fully explore the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation potential across all fields, continuously achieve new results and new breakthroughs, and advance high-quality economic and social development.
Ambassador Lin Nan noted that China and Seychelles have built a long-standing partnership based on mutual respect and shared development goals. The ambassador said the cooperation spans infrastructure, health, education, trade, and people-to-people exchanges, and has delivered tangible benefits to Seychellois communities. ‘We will continue to deepen our collaboration, build on the achievements of recent years, and open up new areas of cooperation that support the priorities of the Seychellois people,’ the ambassador stated.
Looking ahead, Ambassador Lin Nan said that the two sides should continue to align their development strategies, expand trade and investment, and strengthen collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative. ‘I am confident that, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Seychelles relations will reach new heights in the years to come, bringing greater prosperity and well-being to our peoples,’ she added. The ambassador reiterated China’s commitment to working with Seychelles as a trusted partner in its development journey.
