Anti-Bullying Week 2025 Launched at Pointe Larue Secondary School

VICTORIA, Seychelles — All schools across Seychelles are this week observing Anti-Bullying Week with a variety of awareness and educational activities taking place at school level from November 10 to 14. The official launch of the nationwide campaign took place on Monday at the Pointe Larue secondary school, setting the tone for a week dedicated to kindness, respect, and solidarity among students.

When addressing the students, the head teacher of Pointe Larue secondary, Chanel Soomer, emphasised the importance of standing together to eliminate bullying in schools. The head teacher urged pupils to look out for one another and to report any incidents of bullying to a trusted adult, reminding them that kindness should be at the centre of all interactions. The launch featured the unveiling of an anti-bullying mural created by the students, symbolising the school’s commitment to a safe and welcoming environment.

Activities planned for the week include class discussions, poster competitions, peer-led awareness sessions, and parent engagement meetings. The Ministry of Education has called on teachers across the country to use the week as an opportunity to reinforce positive behaviour and to address any underlying issues that may contribute to bullying. Officials noted that the campaign aims not only to address bullying when it occurs but also to foster a culture in which every child feels valued and protected.
