French Ambassador and Education Minister Reaffirm Commitment to Educational Cooperation

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The new French Ambassador to Seychelles, Anne Tallineau, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin, on Monday, with both officials highlighting the importance of educational cooperation between the two countries and the promotion of the French language.

The ambassador warmly welcomed the existing cooperation with the Ministry of Education, insisting on the objective of strengthening French among the Seychellois youth. The initiative is seen as a pillar of the Franco-Seychellois relationship, aimed at valuing French as a language of exchange and culture.

At the end of the discussions, both sides agreed to open new avenues to support Seychellois teachers and to better cooperate with the local education system as a whole. The discussions laid the groundwork for ongoing French support, whether through teacher training, pedagogical resources or exchange programmes.

The meeting reflects the continuing partnership between France and Seychelles in the education sector, with both sides committing to deepen ties that support young people in Seychelles and the wider community.
