VICTORIA, Seychelles — The board of directors of the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) has announced the re-appointment of Allen Cedras as the chief executive of the authority for a second term, effective August 14, 2025, for a period of three years.
Mr Cedras’ re-appointment has been made in consultation with the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment and the President of the Republic, in accordance with Section 75(1) of the Public Enterprises Act, 2023. First appointed on August 16, 2022, he brought to the role over two decades of experience in the field of conservation, project management and ocean governance.
During his first term, Mr Cedras oversaw strategic reforms and operational modernisation that have strengthened the authority’s capacity, helped position Seychelles as a regional leader in conservation, and supported the design and implementation of an effective sustainable financing mechanism underpinning the authority’s long-term operations.
His re-appointment reflects continued confidence in his vision and steadfast leadership, with the board noting that the next three years are expected to deliver further transformative results in the management and conservation of Seychelles’ protected areas.
