Seychelles Conservation and Climate Change Trust Strengthens Environmental Reporting

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Conservation and Climate Change Trust (SCCCT) has taken steps to strengthen environmental reporting in the country, in cooperation with the National Assembly of Seychelles and the Department of Environment.

The initiative aims to enhance transparency on environmental matters, with the Trust providing an additional channel through which conservation issues, climate change adaptation measures and biodiversity protection can be tracked at national level. Officials said the arrangement will help to ensure that environmental commitments are properly documented and reported.

Partners involved in the effort include Parley Seychelles and Sustainability for Seychelles, alongside academic voices such as Sir Terence Vel from the University of Seychelles. The collaboration brings together civil society, government and academia in a common effort to support the country’s environmental agenda.

Officials said the strengthened reporting framework is intended to support the implementation of the country’s climate change commitments and to give the public a clearer view of progress on national conservation goals. The Trust said it will continue to work with partners to expand environmental education and outreach in the coming months.
