New Lane Introduced on Quincy Street to Ease Peak-Hour Congestion

VICTORIA, Seychelles — A new lane has been introduced on Quincy Street to help reduce traffic congestion during peak hours, the Assistant Police Commissioner Antoine Desnousse announced on Wednesday afternoon on site.

Speaking during an interview with the local media, Mr Desnousse said the Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA) has added the lane in the area to improve traffic flow, particularly for vehicles coming into town from the northern districts of Bel Ombre, Beau Vallon and St Louis. The change is intended to ease the heavy build-up that has long affected the route during morning and evening rush hours.

Motorists were advised to familiarise themselves with the new layout and to follow directions issued by traffic officers stationed in the area, as the agency monitors the impact of the change in the coming days. ‘This is part of ongoing efforts to improve the experience of road users and to keep Victoria moving,’ Mr Desnousse said.

The SLTA is expected to review the effect of the new lane over the next few weeks and may make further adjustments based on traffic patterns observed. The public has been urged to drive with care as drivers adapt to the new arrangement.
