Seychellois Teams Deliver Strong Showings Across CJSOI Disciplines

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles delegation wrapped up its team events at the 13th edition of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games with competitive performances across several disciplines, including volleyball, track and field relays, swimming, judo and football. The home teams were cheered on by local supporters throughout the week-long regional competition.

The boys’ volleyball team, the boys’ track and field relay team, the girls’ football team, the girls’ swimming team and the judo athletes all contributed to the medal haul in various categories. The judo team, in particular, secured multiple podium finishes in both individual and team events, reflecting the depth of the country’s combat sport development pathway.

Coaches and team managers said the results would help inform the national federation’s planning for the next Olympic and Commonwealth cycles, while identifying areas for further investment in coaching and athlete welfare. They also noted that the regional competition had provided valuable exposure for the younger members of the squad, who are expected to form the backbone of future Seychellois teams at Indian Ocean games.
