Chevening Scholarship Applications Open in Seychelles for 2025/2026 Cohort

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Applications for the prestigious Chevening scholarships to study in the United Kingdom are open from August 5 to October 7, 2025. The programme offers fully funded master’s degrees at over 150 UK universities to individuals who are ready to lead positive change in their home countries and around the world.

For more than 40 years, Chevening has attracted hundreds of thousands of applications globally. Successful applicants are individuals who can clearly demonstrate outstanding leadership, influence, and networking skills through compelling, evidence-based examples. British High Commissioner Jeff Glekin said: “Chevening’s highly competitive selection process ensures that those chosen to become Chevening Scholars represent the brightest and most driven individuals from around the world.”

Chevening alumni in Seychelles include former Minister for Finance Jean-Paul Adam, former Minister for Investment, Natural Resources and Industry Peter Sinon, principal secretary for Environment Denis Matatiken, and Dr Sylvie Pool, who played a key role in facilitating the recent Oxford-Seychelles partnership. Another alumna, Dr Elvina Henriette, conservation manager and executive director of Gael Seychelles, established the first community garden in Bel Ombre, which teaches children and adults how to grow their own food. To date, over 80 Seychellois have been awarded the scholarship. Applications can be submitted via chevening.org/apply.
