VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan, alongside Minister Rangasamy and Mr Alneyadi, has handed over newly built affordable housing units to residents, in a ceremony that marks another important step in the country’s housing programme. The handover is part of a wider project, with the first phase of the housing programme having been completed in 2014.
The project, valued at US$7.3 million, has delivered modern, well-located homes to families in need, in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring access to decent and affordable housing for all Seychellois. Officials at the ceremony noted that the housing units are designed to high standards and to meet the long-term needs of the recipients.
President Ramkalawan congratulated the new homeowners and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing to invest in affordable housing across the country. He said decent housing is a foundation for stronger families, communities, and a more inclusive Seychelles.
