Guinea Ambassador Moriba Alain Koné Presents Credentials to President Ramkalawan

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea, Mr Moriba Alain Koné, officially presented his letters of credence to President Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday at State House. The ceremony marks the beginning of Ambassador Koné’s diplomatic mission, which will be based in Southern Africa.

After his meeting with the Seychellois Head of State, the ambassador said Guinea would like to welcome more Guinean teachers, particularly French teachers, an idea that President Ramkalawan received with enthusiasm. Beyond education, the discussions focused on expanding cooperation in several key sectors, including tourism, the blue economy, fisheries, the environment and agriculture.

Recognising the expertise of Seychelles in environmental matters, Ambassador Koné informed President Ramkalawan of the Simandou 2040 mega-project in Guinea, a major iron ore exploitation project that represents the world’s largest iron ore deposit. The ambassador said the project, which encompasses agriculture, infrastructure, education, the environment, health and well-being, is perceived as a major opportunity for the entire region.
