VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Vice-President, in his capacity overseeing Planning and Trade, has reviewed the implementation of the automated customs management system, in a meeting that brought together senior customs officials and stakeholders. The review, which covered progress over the past three years, highlighted the system’s contribution to trade facilitation, revenue collection, and border management.
Officials briefed the Vice-President on key milestones, including the rollout of new modules, training of customs officers, and the integration of the system with other government platforms. The meeting also considered recommendations for further improvements, in line with international best practice and the country’s commitments under regional and global trade agreements.
The Vice-President thanked the customs team for their work and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the modernisation of the country’s trade infrastructure. He said the system is critical to ensuring that Seychelles remains competitive, transparent, and efficient in its cross-border trade operations.
