VICTORIA, Seychelles — The twins Elisabeth and Elysée Julienne, popularly known as Renette and René, this month celebrated their 75th birthday. Born in 1949, the two grew up in a warm family environment, sharing their childhood with their older brother, surrounded by their parents, cousins and other family members.
Their lives, which have always been closely intertwined, were marked by both joy and hardship. Elisabeth, who held several positions during her working life, recalled the challenges of working outside Seychelles and the personal losses she endured, including the death of her father and health issues that required surgery. Despite the difficulties, she remained strong and devoted to her family.
The relationship between the twins has always been harmonious. ‘We have always lived well together,’ Elisabeth said. Their bond, family members noted, is a beautiful illustration of sibling love, especially when it carries the unique connection shared by twins. The family and friends gathered to mark the milestone with messages of love and gratitude.
