VICTORIA, Seychelles — The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) yesterday officially inaugurated its newly renovated liaison office, UNDP House, in Bel Air, Victoria, marking a major milestone in the organisation’s 50-year collaboration with Seychelles. The event brought together government officials, civil society representatives, international partners and members of the UNDP family.
The inauguration also coincides with UNDP’s 60th anniversary globally. UNDP House provides a dedicated and modern workspace for the Seychelles liaison office, aiming to boost the visibility, coordination and collaboration of UNDP’s ongoing work in the country. Although the office had been operating out of shared spaces for many years, this new base symbolises strengthened engagement and future ambitions.
Senior government officials present at the ceremony said the new premises would deepen UN support for Seychelles’ national development priorities, particularly in the areas of climate resilience, blue economy, and inclusive growth. UNDP reaffirmed its commitment to walk alongside Seychelles in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
