VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) and the Seychelles Airports Authority (SAA) jointly recognised 93 long-serving employees at a special ceremony held last Friday evening at the Coral Strand Hotel, Beau Vallon. Staff who had completed 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service received certificates and commemorative shields for their dedication, devotion, loyalty and hard work.
Two SAA employees — senior carpenter Daniel Pierre and sub-fire officer Williamson Lesperance — were honoured for clocking 45 years of service each. The 62-year-old senior carpenter joined the maintenance section in May 1980 at the then Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA) and rose from labourer to his current position. The 57-year-old sub-fire officer began his career in 1980 at the Seychelles Ports Authority as a boat boy on the ferry vessel Lady Esme before transferring to DCA in 1982. Minister for Transport Antony Derjacques, principal secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine David Bianchi, SCAA chief executive Garry Albert, and SAA chief executive Colin Chang-Tave attended the ceremony. Both long-serving staff attributed their remarkable tenure to perseverance, dedication, self-motivation and a genuine love for their work.
