Victoria, Seychelles — Seychelles Breweries Limited (SeyBrew), in collaboration with the National Arts and Crafts Council (NACC), has officially announced James Agricole as the winning artist of the art edition of its “Celebrate Seychelles” campaign. The announcement marks a significant moment in the lead-up to the 40th anniversary of Festival Kreol, one of the nation’s most cherished cultural celebrations.
Agricole’s winning piece, a vibrant and expressive painting that captures the essence of everyday Seychellois life, was selected for its powerful visual storytelling and cultural resonance. The artwork will now be immortalized on a limited-edition series of SeyBrew bottles and cans, set to be released later this year as part of the brewery’s commemorative tribute to Kreol heritage.
Speaking at the conclusion of the campaign, SeyBrew representatives highlighted the importance of promoting local talent and cultural expression through unique collaborations like this one.
“We are proud to work with the National Arts and Crafts Council to celebrate the identity, resilience, and creativity of our people,” said a SeyBrew spokesperson. “James Agricole’s piece reflects the spirit of our islands and aligns perfectly with the message behind Festival Kreol.”
This marks a new chapter in the “Celebrate Seychelles” campaign, which was launched to shine a light on the people, places, and traditions that define the country. The initiative invited artists to submit original works representing Seychellois life, with a focus on authenticity, community, and Kreol pride.
The National Arts and Crafts Council praised the campaign for giving artists a platform to share their work with a broader audience, while also reinforcing national pride during a milestone year for cultural celebration.
“Festival Kreol is about more than music and dance—it’s about honoring our roots and amplifying the voices of local creatives,” said NACC officials. “This collaboration is a meaningful example of how business and the arts can come together to celebrate culture.”
The limited-edition Seybrew packaging featuring Agricole’s artwork is expected to hit shelves in the coming months, coinciding with Festival Kreol events throughout Seychelles.
With this partnership, Seychelles Breweries not only raises a toast to culture and creativity but also reinforces its longstanding commitment to community engagement and national identity.
