VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday bade farewell to the 19th Chinese medical team, marking the end of a successful mission in Seychelles. The visit was an opportunity for the President to thank the team for their service to the country and to recognise the contribution of the long-standing Seychelles-China health partnership.
During the ceremony, the chief executive of the Health Care Agency briefed the President on the impact of the team’s work, including the delivery of specialised medical services, the training of local professionals, and the manufacture of medical products at lower cost. The partnership continues to be a model of South-South cooperation in the health sector.
The Chinese medical team expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the opportunity to serve in Seychelles, while reaffirming the commitment of their home institutions in China to continue supporting the country’s health sector. The ceremony ended with a souvenir photograph with President Ramkalawan and senior health officials.
