VICTORIA, Seychelles — Students from English River secondary school have taken to the streets of Victoria for a community clean-up awareness walk, demonstrating the role of young people in keeping the country clean. The walk began on Palm Street before ending at the school, drawing attention from passers-by and shop owners.
Organised by the school in partnership with the community, the activity is part of a wider effort to instil a culture of cleanliness, responsibility, and civic pride among young Seychellois. Students carried banners and shared messages about the importance of proper waste disposal, recycling, and the protection of public spaces.
School leaders and parents praised the initiative and called for more such activities across the country. The students said they were proud to contribute to their community and to set an example for their peers, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner and greener Seychelles.
