The heart of the capital pulsed with patriotic energy this weekend as rehearsals kicked off for what’s expected to be a show-stopping National Day Parade. Constitution Avenue in Victoria transformed into a bustling training ground on Saturday, as military units, uniformed youth, and ceremonial performers began marching in step toward Seychelles’ grandest annual spectacle.
The preparations, chaired by none other than Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Jean-François Ferrari, who also heads the National Day Celebrations Committee, mark the official countdown to the main event. Speaking with enthusiasm, Ferrari confirmed: “Rehearsals for the National Parade are now in full swing—and we’re working to ensure it will be one of the most memorable celebrations Seychelles has ever seen.”
As the country prepares to mark its sovereignty and identity with pride, the parade is more than just pomp—it’s a public display of unity, strength, and national spirit. Citizens are already gathering along the sidewalks during rehearsals, hinting at the excitement building across Mahé and beyond.
From colourful drill formations to precision marching under the tropical sun, Seychelles is ready to put on a show. Stay tuned—this year’s National Day might just be one for the history books.
