New Tanzanian High Commissioner Presents Credentials to President

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Dr Bernard Yohana Kibesse has been appointed as the new High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Seychelles, after presenting his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House yesterday morning. The presentation was followed by discussions on the state of bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Ramkalawan congratulated Dr Kibesse on his appointment, reaffirming Seychelles’ commitment to the longstanding and cordial relations with Tanzania. The President also extended his best wishes for a fruitful and impactful tenure in this pivotal diplomatic role. Dr Kibesse conveyed greetings from President Samia Suluhu Hassan and reiterated Tanzania’s dedication to advancing bilateral ties with Seychelles.

The meeting served as a platform to reflect on the current state of relations between the two countries, with both sides exploring new areas of cooperation that could prove to be beneficial to both. HC Kibesse identified transportation and communication as two key areas for collaboration. Diplomatic relations between Seychelles and Tanzania were formally established in November 2010, laying the foundation for a steadily growing partnership that spans trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
