Ramkalawan Welcomes New Thai Ambassador Janemathukorn

VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan on Tuesday welcomed the newly appointed ambassador of Thailand, Ms Janemathukorn, during a credential ceremony at State House. The ambassador presented her credentials to the president, marking the formal start of her diplomatic posting to Seychelles.

Both parties expressed a shared vision for expanding bilateral cooperation and identified general areas such as tourism, conservation, environmental preservation, trade and investment, educational exchanges, and information and communication technology. The newly accredited ambassador will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. “We look forward to working with Thai businesses and women to engage with Thailand to enhance greater cooperation,” said the president.

Ambassador Janemathukorn brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as Chief of the Secretariat to the department of International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and with prior postings in Copenhagen. She is a graduate of Thammasat University and holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School. The ambassador replaces Ms Pitchayaphant Chinnabutr, who concluded her term in September 2021.
