Singer Katty Melanie Samson Launches GoFundMe Campaign for Cancer Treatment
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Since a local publication reported on the deteriorating health of renowned local singer Katty Melanie Samson, the whole of Seychelles has shared in her pain. Some media outlets and hospitals have reached out to her, offering their support, and an Indian hospital has presented her with a treatment plan that her family has accepted. The cost of the treatment amounts to US $60,000, around R860,000.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Katty’s daughter Shakur Belle said they have started a GoFundMe page for their mother and are forever grateful to everyone who has reached out. The hospital has recommended that Katty travel to India in the first week of February. “I am determined to fight with everything I have. However, the medical treatments I urgently need — such as radiotherapy, specialised care and other essential interventions — are incredibly costly. The financial burden is overwhelming, and I cannot do this alone,” said Katty.
The singer thanked her colleagues and family, including Stephen Elijah Eliza and her cousin Pat Barallon, for their upcoming fundraising activity. She also expressed gratitude to her fans, family and friends from Rodrigues Island, Australia, Italy and the UK for their contributions.
