Sixteen-Year-Old Liam D’Unienville Named Most Engaged Youth at SNYC Awards Ceremony

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Liam D’Unienville, 16, was named the Most Engaged Youth for 2024 during the Positive Youth Award ceremony organised by the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) at Constance Ephelia, Port Launay, on Saturday evening.

The annual ceremony celebrates the achievements and innovations of young Seychellois who are making significant positive impacts in their communities. President Wavel Ramkalawan, who presented the trophy, congratulated the winner in front of a large gathering of family members, peers and officials. Liam, visibly emotional, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, which he said would motivate him to continue contributing to his community.

Other awardees on the night included young entrepreneurs, students excelling in science and the arts, and youth volunteers engaged in environmental and social projects. The SNYC said the high number and quality of nominations this year reflects the growing commitment of young Seychellois to public service and community development.
