
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Trading Company (STC) has appointed Hussein Hassan as its new chief executive, effective from February 1, 2025, in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the President of the Republic, in accordance with Section 75 (1) of the Public Enterprises Act, 2023.
Mr Hassan holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the ESAMI programme under the auspices of the University of Seychelles, a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Kingston University in the United Kingdom and over 22 years of working experience in public service. He started his career in 2003 as an assistant trade officer in the Ministry of Finance and Trade and rose through the ranks to senior trade officer and then acting general manager for Imports at STC.
In March 2017, he was promoted to the post of director general of the Trade department, and in December 2021, he was appointed deputy chief executive of the Seychelles Fisheries Authority, a post he occupied until his new appointment at STC. The board of directors thanked the outgoing chief executive and wished Mr Hassan well in his new role.
