International School Seychelles Marks International Day of Education with Stories from Educators

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The International School Seychelles (ISS) joined the global community yesterday in celebrating International Day of Education under a theme shining a spotlight on the invaluable contributions of teachers and staff to the education of young people.

As part of the celebration, ISS interviewed several experienced educators to share their journeys, insights and aspirations for the future of education. Elodie Vallantine, Executive Head, attributed her 20-year career in education to the inspiration and mentorship of exceptional leaders during her early teaching years. “Education has always been my passion,” she said, ‘and I take immense pride in contributing to the growth and success of young people who represent the future of our global community.’

Doris Nourrice, Deputy Head of Secondary; Daphne Jasmin, Deputy Head of Primary; and Mary Uzice, Primary Inclusion Coordinator, also shared their reflections. ISS said the heart-felt responses highlight the profound impact of teaching and the enduring importance of education in a rapidly changing world.
