Seychelles Trading Company Highlights Shipping Disruptions as Supply Chain Concern for Perishables

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Trading Company (STC) has highlighted that shipping disruptions remain a concern for the importer and wholesaler, particularly in the supply of perishable goods to the local market.

Officials at the company said the situation is being monitored closely and that contingency plans are being put in place to ensure that essential food items continue to reach retailers and consumers. The STC, which is a major importer of food and household goods, has been working with shipping partners to reduce the impact of delays caused by route changes and global freight pressures.

The company said it would continue to engage the Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade and other relevant authorities on the issue. A fuller update on the impact of the disruptions on prices and availability is expected in the coming weeks, alongside any measures the company plans to take to safeguard supply.
