Tom Boatin Foundation Donates 100 Books to Seychelles National Library

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Tom Boatin Foundation, set up in honour of a Ghanaian educationist, has donated 100 books to the Seychelles National Library, in a short ceremony attended by Lady Julia Osei Tutu and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan yesterday morning.

The books were handed over by the foundation’s representative, Nana Kwasi Boatin, to David Andre, secretary general of the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts. The collection includes children’s books, history and geography, and self-help titles. Mr Boatin said the volumes were not just a collection of words but “carriers of wisdom, chronicles of the two countries’ shared history and bridges to the future”.

Mr Andre thanked the foundation and said the donation celebrated literature and the continued strengthening of ties between Seychelles and Ghana. “This donation not only celebrates literature but it is also a testament to the continued strengthening of the ties between Seychelles and Ghana, a bond that has endured over the years, deeply rooted in history and mutual respect,” he said.
