VICTORIA, Seychelles, The Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA) is advising the general public on Praslin and La Digue that its offices on both islands will move into new locations as from tomorrow, March 1, 2024, while operations will start as from March 4, 2024. The advisory was made by the public relations officer at SLA, Shannon Francoise, during a press briefing on Tuesday at the authority headquarters, Orion Mall Building, Victoria. The move is part of a wider effort by the authority to improve the service it offers to clients on both islands.
The La Digue branch, which was occupying an office at the back of the La Digue community centre, will now be located in an office on the first floor of the Pension Fund Building in La Passe, located adjacent to the community centre. The new space is larger and is expected to give both staff and visitors a more comfortable environment. Services that were offered at the previous location, including business and driving-related services, will continue as before.
The Praslin office, which was located in the JW Building on Eve Island, will be based on the ground floor of the former STC Supermarket, in the Pension Fund Complex at Grand Anse Praslin. Ms Francoise noted that the office in the Pension Fund Complex is being shared with the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC). The shared arrangement is expected to make it easier for clients who need to deal with both agencies in a single visit.
According to Ms Francoise, the reason for the move was to provide conducive space for clients and staff, which was lacking in the two previous locations. She said that while services that were offered in both branches related to business and driving will remain the same, in addition will be the possibility for drivers on both islands to have their driving licence cards printed at the Praslin branch only, without having to do it on Mahe. The aim is to offer additional and better quality service to clients.
All of our services remain the same and we would like to encourage members of the public on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue to use our online services by visiting www.Sla.goc.sc to access the different platforms. Given the world is digital nowadays, we want maximum people to make use of our digital platforms, said Ms Francoise. Meanwhile SLA has announced the re-opening of the Providence branch as from March 4, 2024, which was damaged during the December 7 explosion.
